hopefully it's nothing any more serious and benign than an epidermoid or pilar cyst (sebaceous cyst) - they "may occur for various reasons, for example, following an injury to the skin". maybe all of those repeated falls off his chair and face plants onto his desk finally left a mark. with all of that panting tonight, i'm glad he didn't give birth. =P
